Core Purpose
To enhance the health and sustainability of the American berry crop industries.
Vision Statement
Consumption of berry crops provided by the American berry industry will increase year over year. As a result, the American berry crop industry will continue to be viewed as a model of agricultural efficiency, and sustainability. Increased berry consumption will result in improved human health and nutrition as well as prosperity for rural and agricultural communities.

Berry Health Benefits Symposium
Put on under the auspices of NBCI, the symposium, which has been held biennially since 2005, is an international conference dedicated to showcasing the latest scientific research into berries and health. The symposium features cutting edge findings in many areas including brain health, heart health, gut health, skin health and more.

History
NBCI was established in 2005 when Dr. Thomas Bewick, of USDA/CSREES, began gathering berry researchers, growers, and industry leaders together to discuss the needs of the industry as a whole.
Leadership
The current NBCI Board of Directors is comprised of members of industry, academia and government commodity groups that are involved in the United States Berry Industry.
By-laws
Established in 2013, these by-laws are used to guide the decisions of the National Berry Crops Initiative.
Committees
These specialized groups provide advice to the Board of Directors to carry out the priorities of NBCI.
