
10th Biennial Berry Health Benefits Symposium

It has been twenty years since the first, groundbreaking symposium was held. Since then, the number of scientific studies done on berries, and the knowledge about the benefits they offer to improve human health, has skyrocketed, becoming one of the hottest health topics for consumers. New avenues of cutting-edge berry science continue to be opened and the 2025 BHBS featured scientists from across the globe reporting on their latest research and the newest health benefits offered through berry consumption.


Virtual Ticket Option
People around the world to were able to join us virtually for the 2025 Berry Health Benefits Symposium! The entire symposium was live-streamed as a Zoom webinar. Up to 12 CDR Live Webinar CPEUs were available! The virtual ticket included:
- Two full days of presentations, panels and student research.
- Digital copy of the pre-proceedings which includes speaker bios and abstracts for each talk in advance of the symposium.
- Opportunity to participate in live question and answer sessions after each talk.
- Join anytime during the two-day program.
- Access to video recordings of all presentations after the symposium.
Schedule
The 2025 symposium took place on Tuesday, October 7th and Wednesday, October 8th. We also offered an optional regional berry tour on Thursday, October 9th.
BHBS has consistently offered a first look at the newest research into how berries in the diet affect everything from cardiovascular to gut health. The 10th Berry Health Benefits symposium offered a chance to get out ahead of the crowd by presenting the latest research specific to berries impact on gut health and the connections to other systems in the body.


Historic Blueberry and Cranberry Tour at Whitesbog Village
Discover the roots of New Jersey’s cranberry industry with a tour at Whitesbog Village — the birthplace of the cultivated blueberry and a hub of agricultural innovation! Explore the preserved village, original cranberry bogs, and learn how generations of workers shaped the land and legacy. Enjoy tastings of cranberry treats and seasonal specialties, made with fruit grown right here in the bogs!

Our Host Hotel
The 10th Biennial Symposium took place at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing. Steps from waterfront activities on the Delaware River, the hotel is a mile from Liberty Bell, the convention center, Reading Terminal, and the Museum of the American Revolution. The hotel is also adjacent to Spruce Street Harbor Park and walking distance to shops and galleries in Old City.


Junior Investigators
The 2025 Berry Health Benefits Symposium offered Junior Investigators two ways to share their latest research findings relating to the symposium themes of berry biochemical composition, cardiovascular health, metabolism regulation, gut health, brain aging, skin health and other health properties of berry fruit. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows submitted abstracts for review and consideration for poster presentations and oral presentations.
